Car Accidents
Life is so precious. Every single moment is one we should not take for granted. Life can be taken from you at any point in time with no warning. That realization is just becoming more and clearer to me especially in the last couple of weeks.
I wrote in a past blog about a friend being in a car accident and a lady dying in that accident so I won’t rewrite about that. Then last Saturday I think it was, I went to prayer meeting as I always do. When Lawrence got there after me he said, “Good, you are here”. I didn’t know what he was talking about but he explained that on his way to prayer meeting he saw a little red car that had gotten into an accident and was totally smashed up. It must have happened just after I had passed and I was thinking, that could have been me! I could have slipped on ice and spun out and gotten into a car accident and had my little red car smashed.
Just today I found out that a friend who I grew up with and went to school with for 9 years died in an accident early yesterday morning. It’s very sad.
I have taken quite a bit of time lately to just thank God for His protection on my life. I could be any one of those people who died. My time on this earth could be over in a split second. But I’m still here. God has allowed me more time on this earth to accomplish His purpose. As for the specifics of His purpose for me, I wish I knew but guess I just have to be patient and stay close to Him so I can be ready and listening when He reveals it to me.
I’m sorry if this is a bit of a depressing blog to read because of all the death and car accidents mentioned but that seems to be the major theme presented in my life lately. I don’t really understand why, I just know that I don’t have time to be wasting my life doing trivial things. No one knows the day or the hour that He might choose to take you home or when He will return in all His glory.
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
--Matthew 24:42
